Pilot's Report Tutorial

In this tutorial you will find every explanation you need in order to fill out your Pilot’s REPorts properly.

We strongly advise you to print the PIREP form and have a number of hard copies in your ASe Folder. Every time you start to fly an ASe flight, take one out of the folder and place it in front of you. It will be very good to write down on it all the necessary data plus every comment you might have while on flight and not trying to remember what happened afterwards.

So here is the official PIREP form of Aegean Seagull.

Date of Flight :

Enter the date you flew this flight.

Flight Number :

Enter the flight number from AeS schedules.

Origination Airport :

Enter the ICAO four letter code for the airport you depart from.

Destination Airport :

Enter the ICAO four letter code for the destination airport.

Aircraft used :

Enter the aircraft type you used. 737 or ATR45 These are the aircraft codes you should include in your flight plans as well.

Detailed Route :

Enter your detailed route of flight, as you described it in your flight plan.

Gate Departure Time :

Enter the time of departure for the specific flight from the schedules tables. Each time you are about to push back from a gate or start up your engines from a non-gate airport you should enter the prescribed departure time from our schedules in your FS clock. DO NOT ENTER THE ACTUAL (REAL) TIME OF DEPARTURE.

Gate Arrival Time :

Enter the time you parked your aircraft next to a gate or on the Apron of the destination airport. DO NOT ENTER THE ACTUAL (REAL) TIME OF ARRIVAL

Flight Duration :

Enter your flight duration (Chock to chock - From the pushback/engine start up to parking position/engines shut down after arrival) time in decimal format. As this may not seem so clear, please refer to the example below to be sure that you are doing it the right way.

Cruise Altitude/FL :

Enter the altitude or Flight Level you reached and made your cruise.

Cruise Speed :

Enter the indicated airspeed of cruising phase in kias if below FL200, Mach number if above FL200.

Winds at Cruise Altitude/FL :

Enter an average direction and strength of winds during your cruise phase.

Fuel on engine start-up :

Enter the number of lbs you selected to have on board at the start of your flight. No need to fly with full fuel load except for it is needed. You will burn fuel just to carry fuel around. You should take care to improvise fuel for your planned flight plus the fuel for your alternate airport plus fuel for 45 minutes of holding.

Fuel on engine shut down :

Enter the number of lbs you have in your tanks after you have your engines shut down. Take care to write down this number just prior to shut down as some plane s get automatically refueled on engines shutdown.

Which network did you log in?

Select the organization in which you flew your on-line flight, IVAO or VATSIM.

Was your flight ATC covered?

    Yes or No

Comments :

Enter any comment you might have in regards with your flight. For example why there is a significant difference between the prescribed and the actual time of arrival, possible shortcuts approved by ATC, things you are not sure that you did the right way etc.

Gate Departure Time : 11:00

Gate Arrival Time : 11:50

Flight Duration : 0.83 hrs (50 minutes divided by 60 minutes equals 0.83 hrs. See Minutes to Hours conversion table in the “AeS Insider” section)

Cruise Altitude/FL : FL230

Which network did you log in? VATSIM

Was your flight ATC covered? Yes

Comments : Approaching TNG NDB ATC cleared us direct to KEA ending up to some time and fuel economy. We executed the standard VOR/DME approach procedure for Runway 34 in Mikonos. Weather in LGMK was extreme at the time of landing winds 34025G35KT. Maybe it was a bad choice to fly this flight this specific time.
